BDLC Ongoing Volunteer Opportunities
There are many ways to accomplish your volunteer hours. A volunteer year runs from Sept. 1 to Aug. 31. Some are one-time needs, for which we will ask for specific help when they occur, others involve a continual commitment over time. Committee work is a yearly job and accomplishes all the volunteer hours you need. If you have been a parent at BDLC for over a year and have not been on the board or a committee, we would love for you to volunteer! Contact the director, Natalie Gray for more information.
Scholastic Book Organizer: Contact office for details.
Distribute information to parents in your classroom via email. For example, you could write up a monthly summary of classroom events for The BUZZ. Forward the monthly newsletter to parents when you receive it. Coordinate potluck contributions from your classroom.
Recycle cardboard, plastic and cans once a month on Fridays or Saturdays. Take to Walnut Street Recycling Center. We currently need volunteers for the 3rd and 4th weeks of each month.
Trimming playground areas and weeding garden.
Grounds Day Volunteer:
Join Us for a fall Saturday to work on BDLC grounds doing a variety of jobs such as spreading mulch, raking leaves, trimming around fences.
BDLC Board Member:
Attend board meetings 3rd Tuesday of each month. Help the director in major decisions concerning BDLC.
Work with the director and other parents support additional funds for BDLC.
